Russian figure skating coach Sergei Davydov spoke about the girls' quadruple jumps. This was reported by Match TV.
According to the specialist, the presence of this element adds entertainment, but harms the integrity of the programs and the quality of skiing. “They create a wow effect, but they take into the background the idea, the images, the play on the costume. As for me, this is destruction, ”added the coach.
In December, the honored coach of the USSR in figure skating Alexei Mishin, who worked with two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko, assessed the prospect of the athletes performing a quadruple axel. He called the element unattainable for all skaters in the world.
At the end of December, Davydov's ward, Sofya Samodelkina, took fifth place at the Russian Championship in women's single skating. The victory was won by Kamila Valieva.
