During training jumps at the Ryazan Higher Airborne School, deputy platoon commander Sergeant Selin died. His parachute did not open because someone tied the lines with a rope.

The incident occurred on June 3 during training parachute jumps. The school command initially hid the details, but later the investigation established that Selin's death was not an accident. This was reported by 24 Kanal , citing Russian media.

The cadet confessed to the murder, but could only have been the perpetrator

Two days after the incident, cadet Kazantsev confessed to the murder. He said he acted out of his own hostility and wanted to “protect other cadets” from Selin, with whom he allegedly often clashed.

However, the investigation believes that Kazantsev could only have been the perpetrator of the crime. The main customer is suspected to be Warrant Officer Seleznev, who also had a tense relationship with the murdered sergeant.

Eyewitnesses claim that Selin's case was not isolated. According to them, a similar sabotage with a parachute happened to another commander. Despite this, the school's management tried to hide the incidents so as not to spoil the reputation of the educational institution.

Investigators concluded that the motive for the murder could have been either personal hostility or the fear of other cadets in the face of Selin's harsh leadership methods.
