T-90M “Breakthrough”
A model of the Russian T-14 Armata tank was spotted at the US Army Ground Transportation Systems Center at Fort Benning, dambiev blog reported in LiveJournal.
According to the user, in this organization at the end of October a conference was held on four concepts of the next generation tank, being developed as part of the Next Generation Combat Vehicle – Future Decisive Lethality (NGCV-FDL) project to replace the main American battle tanks M1 Abrams.
According to dambiev, models of combat vehicles on the Armata heavy universal tracked platform, a tank support combat vehicle (BMPT) and a T-90M Proryv main battle tank took part in the design discussions.
In August, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade Denis Manturov said that the T-14 “Armata” tank could be put into service in late 2020 – early 2021.
Work on the Armata universal tracked platform was carried out in 2009-2015. The contract between the Ministry of Defense of Russia and Uralvagonzavod provides for the supply from the end of 2018 to the end of 2021 of 132 vehicles created on the basis of the Armata platform (T-14 tank, T-15 BMP and T-16 armored recovery vehicle ).
