The wife of the Russian Viktor Bout, who is serving a sentence in an American prison, said that her husband had an inflammation of the teeth, RIA Novosti reports.
According to Alla Booth, Victor told her that for the fifth day he had a temperature of about 39 degrees, he had chills, and had no strength.
“Two upper teeth became inflamed, the inflammation spread to the maxillary sinus, and green-yellow discharge from the nose began. The ear is blocked. I am not a doctor, but it is clear that the inflammation has gone up, and, at best, antibiotics are indispensable, ”she said.
Booth stressed that in prison, her husband received no help other than paracetamol pills, so the threat to his health could be deadly.
“The Russian Embassy has sent a note to the State Department today,” she added.
Bout's lawyer Alexei Tarasov plans on Wednesday to appeal to an American prison overseer to receive all the necessary medical assistance.
In 2008, Bout was detained in Thailand and then extradited to the United States. There he was sentenced to 25 years in prison and a fine of $ 15 million on charges of conspiracy to illegally sell weapons and support terrorism. The Russian denies all charges against him.
