Russian biathlon has put forward the requirements of the IBU because of the ban on the word “Russia”

The Russian Biathlon Union (RBU) has put forward demands to the leadership of the International Biathlon Union (IBU) because of the ban on the use of the word “Russia” during the World Championships. This is reported on the website of the organization.

The RBU considered that the IBU management went beyond the requirements of the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) verdict, and demanded to reconsider its decision. In their opinion, the RBU may use the official name and color logo during the tournament. The organization expects that the IBU will find a compromise solution on the use of symbols, otherwise the Russian biathlon will turn to CAS for help.
