The Ukrainian edition of Defense Express evaluated the naval version of the Russian BMP-3 and admitted that the Ukrainian BTR-4 was losing to it.
The BMP-3 is in service with the marines of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Crimea, and the BTR-4 is used by the Ukrainian marines. New Russian vehicles can drop into the water and reach the coast on their own, even in rough seas. Thanks to this, the landing ships do not need to come close to land, which protects them from coastal weapons. The firepower of the BMP-3F is similar to that of a tank. The vehicle has two cannons of 100 and 30 mm caliber.
As for the BTR-4, it is inferior to the Russian vehicle both in driving performance and in firepower. In Ukraine, they came to the conclusion that the requirements for amphibious vehicles of the country's navy should be tightened.
