Russian Ambassador to Helsinki Pavel Kuznetsov was summoned to the Finnish Foreign Ministry to protest the country's official authorities in connection with the start of Russia's special operation in the Donbass. This is stated in a statement by the department on Twitter.

The Finnish Ministry discussed the situation with a Russian diplomat and said that Moscow “violated international laws” and “bears full responsibility for the attacks on Ukraine.”

On February 24, the European Union also summoned Russia's permanent representative to the EU, Vladimir Chizhov, in connection with the situation in Ukraine. “In the context of the EU response to the Russian invasion of Ukraine, High Representative Josep Borrell instructed the Secretary General of the European External Action Service, Stefano Sannino, to call the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the European Union, Vladimir Chizhov, to Brussels today,” the statement said.
