The aggressor country Russia does not give up plans to take Kyiv. However, nothing threatens the capital of Ukraine, because the Ukrainian army is able to protect the city.
Aleksei Arestovich, Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, spoke about this on the air of a telethon on Ukrainian channels.
He recalled the information released by the British Ministry of Defense: that Kyiv remains a key military target for the Russian Federation. Arestovich confirmed that this is the case.
– There is an opinion of the British Ministry of Defense, which says that Kyiv remains on the list of priority targets. And it's true, he said.
Arestovich clarified that the Russian troops now have several main directions of attack:
• Kherson-Nikolaev, but the invaders are already on the defensive;
• zone OOS – from the city of Izyum to the south and from Volnovakha to the north, the city of Mariupol;
• Kyiv.
– They are idiots, and they will have the priority of taking the capital until the last, until we bury the last soldier here. Nothing threatens Kiev, nothing at all. Of course, there will be some strikes against Kiev, but we (Russian troops, — Ed.) are destroying them. All these groups that could help them in the south or in the east, they continue to hold around Kyiv, — Arestovich emphasized.
He added that the Russian Federation had nowhere to get new reserves to continue offensives.
“They continue to do the same stupid thing they did from the very beginning: attack on several operational directions at the same time with a span of 500-700 km between them. This is suicide. This is “big Chernobaevka”. For them, the whole of Ukraine is a solid Chernobyevka, — Arestovich noted, referring to the airfield in Chernobaevka, where the Armed Forces of Ukraine have already defeated the enemy forces seven times.
According to the adviser to the head of the OPU, the enemy will continue to advance until all reserves run out, and this will happen very fast. Arestovich predicts that active hostilities will stop within 2-3 weeks (or possibly less).
– The only thing left for them is to get out of here altogether. Since they initially had no chance of defeating Ukraine, — he said.
As the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine informed the day before, Russian troops lost a combined detachment of the 6th tank regiment during another attempt to attack Kyiv.

As the head of the Kiev Regional Military Administration Oleksandr Pavlyuk noted, now it is necessary to keep the enemy in the area of Bucha and Gostomel and deprive him of the opportunity to attack the capital of Ukraine from that side.
