In the course of contacts during the summit of Russian President Vladimir Putin and American leader Joe Biden, Moscow will insist that Kiev abide by the Minsk agreements to resolve the conflict in Donbass. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, quoted by RIA Novosti.
“We, of course, will very clearly state our approaches to the Ukrainian settlement, to the need to force the Kiev regime to fulfill its obligations written in black and white within the framework of the Minsk package of measures,” he said. According to Lavrov, the Ukrainian side will only listen to the United States.
The diplomat added that Washington is trying to force Moscow to end the fire regime, although it has nothing to do with the conflict in eastern Ukraine.
The video call between the presidents of Russia and the United States will take place in a closed-to-press mode on December 7 at 18:00 Moscow time. Before the conversation with Putin, Biden is planning only a daily reconnaissance briefing; there are no other meetings on this day on his schedule.
