Russia will demand from the US to explain the support of “Ukrainian terrorists” in Crimea

The Russian Embassy will demand from the United States to clarify the message of the NBC channel about the American support for the terrorist activities of Ukraine in Crimea. The corresponding statement was published on the embassy's Facebook page.

“If this is true, and not the geographic myopia of the channel, then we demand that the American side clarify whether Washington directly or indirectly helped the SBU in organizing terrorist attacks against Crimeans,” the text says.

The statement also said that the allegations in the report were “addressed with grave concern by the embassy.” “To put it another way, unnamed US officials say their country supports terrorist activities in third countries. In this case, they speak specifically about Russia, ”the embassy specified.

NBC published material that Washington supports the activities of “Ukrainian units in Crimea.” The media claims that in response, Russia is allegedly making payments to the Afghan terrorist group Taliban (banned in Russia) for the murder of the American military.

Crimea became part of Russia in 2014 after a referendum in which the majority of the inhabitants of the peninsula supported this decision. In the same year, the United States, the European Union and some other states imposed sanctions against Russia due to the annexation of the peninsula. Kiev considers this territory annexed and accuses Moscow of violating the rights of the Crimean Tatars. The Russian authorities have denied these allegations.
