The media reported that the Russian army could arm itself with new light multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS). They are already being developed by specialists from NPO SPLAV, which is part of the Tekhmash concern.
New MLRS will be installed on cars. The systems will be able to use 80-mm unguided aircraft missiles.
According to the media, a light multiple launch rocket system has already been presented to the military. They approved the novelty.
“The military recommended an automobile base chassis, as well as the tasks that such a mini-MLRS should solve on the battlefield. The basis for the creation of this type of weapon was taken unguided aircraft missiles of the S-8 type, ”said Aleksandr Kochkin, executive director of NPK Tekhmash.
It is noted that with the help of these missiles, it is possible to destroy manpower, armored vehicles and protected objects of the enemy.
