Russia will continue to help the African countries of the Sahel Group of Five (G5 Sahel – Mali, Burkina Faso, Niger, Chad and Mauritania) by supplying weapons, military equipment and training peacekeepers to fight terrorism. This was stated by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov, TASS reports.
“We talked about the steps that Russia is taking in order to support the emerging forces of the Sahel Five. The process of their formation is now ending. We will continue to support this process, ”the Russian minister said after talks with Chadian Foreign Minister Mahamat Zena Sheriff.
