Russia to “save” some foreigners from corrupting influence: list of “immoral” countries approved

by alex

To receive support, foreign citizens must share traditional Russian values and move to live in the Russian Federation.

The Russian government has approved a list of states that “impose destructive neoliberal ideological attitudes on citizens” that contradict Russia's “spiritual “bonds”.

The text of the order was published on the Russian government website.

The list of “immoral” countries includes 47 states and territories, most of which were previously recognized as “unfriendly” in the Russian Federation.

As expected, Slovakia and Hungary were not included in the EU, and Turkey was not included in the NATO countries. The list also does not include four EU candidate countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Georgia, Moldova, and Serbia.

In addition to the EU and NATO countries, the list includes Ukraine, Switzerland, Australia, New Zealand, Micronesia, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, San Marino, Monaco, Liechtenstein, the Bahamas, Andorra, and the United Kingdom with all its overseas territories. Taiwan is also listed as part of China, although the PRC is not on the list.

The list was approved in accordance with Putin's decree “on providing humanitarian support to foreigners who share traditional Russian spiritual and moral values.” According to this decree, if such “correct” foreigners want to move to Russia, they will be able to obtain a residence permit through a simplified procedure, without having to learn Russian, history and laws of the Russian Federation, and outside the established quotas for the reception of migrants.

Recall that Russia threatened Moldova with “involvement in the conflict” because of Ukrainian F-16 aircraft. The press secretary of the Russian Foreign Ministry said that a “militarization process” is taking place in Moldova.
