Russia, Iran and Turkey have agreed to hold a summit in the Astana format in Tehran in February-March next year, 2022, writes TASS referring to the senior adviser to the foreign minister on special political issues Ali Asghar Haji.
“Yes, it [the summit] is planned. We are preparing to hold it early next year, ”he said, stressing that the final decision will depend on the situation with the coronavirus pandemic.
“But in general, we agreed to hold a summit. Most likely, in February or March we will be able to hold this summit, ”said a spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Minister.
In November, Kazakh Foreign Minister Mukhtar Tleuberdi said that within the framework of negotiations on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Syria, the guarantor countries – Russia, Turkey and Iran – could meet in Nur-Sultan. Tleuberdi added that Nur-Sultan has already thought about the format of the upcoming negotiations: they will probably be held offline.
