The US intelligence report, which accuses Russia of meddling in the American elections, is a lie and disinformation intended to justify the factually aimless activities of the intelligence services. This was stated in a television speech by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Maria Zakharova. She is quoted by RIA Novosti.
“Firstly, this is another portion of lies and misinformation, fakes, and secondly, it is already necessary to come up with something more interesting, fresher, more realistic, and the state bodies of the United States of America cannot manipulate public opinion inside their country so much,” agency of the word Zakharova.
Earlier, the Russian embassy in Washington reacted to the content of the report: there it was called “another set of baseless accusations.”
On March 16, US intelligence released a report accusing Russia and Iran of meddling in the 2020 presidential election. Washington accuses Moscow of trying to support the re-election of ex-President Donald Trump, discredit US leader Joe Biden and “sow discord” in American society. At the same time, Iran also allegedly “made attempts to influence the elections in the United States” and tried to prevent Trump from winning. In this regard, the United States has already announced sanctions against countries.
