Russia received the Indian strain of COVID-19 for research
A sample of the Indian strain of coronavirus was delivered to Russia for study. The Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Mikhail Murashko told the journalists about it.
“We have a strain of the Indian coronavirus,” RIA Novosti quotes the words of the head of the Ministry of Health.
Recall that the situation with the incidence of coronavirus in India is one of the most difficult in the world. The country ranks second in the number of cases detected. A new strain of coronavirus is circulating in India. According to the WHO, it is more infectious and resistant to antibodies that have appeared in those who have been ill.
Earlier, the head of Rospotrebnadzor, Anna Popova, said that the department records a greater number of contacts among those infected with new strains of coronavirus compared to carriers of the original variants.
