Russia reacted to Pashinyan's appeal to Putin

The Russian Foreign Ministry reacted to the appeal of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Russian President Vladimir Putin with a request to ensure the security of Armenia. This was reported on the website of the Foreign Ministry.

The report says that in accordance with the Treaty of Friendship, Cooperation and Mutual Assistance between Russia and Armenia, Moscow will provide Yerevan with all the necessary assistance if the clashes are transferred directly to the territory of the republic.

Moscow also called on the parties to the conflict to immediately cease fire and return to negotiations.

Earlier, Pashinyan asked Putin to start consultations to determine the form of support to ensure the country's security. “In the letter, in particular, the circumstances of the transfer of foreign armed terrorists from the Middle East and their participation in hostilities against Nagorno-Karabakh were emphasized,” the foreign ministry said in a statement.

On October 26, a ceasefire came into force in Nagorno-Karabakh. The corresponding agreements were reached by Azerbaijan and Armenia with the mediation of the United States. The third ceasefire began at 08:00 local time (07:00 Moscow time), but soon the parties accused each other of violating the silence and continued to fight.
