Russia poses even more deadly threat than Nazis in 1939: British general appeals to NATO

The threat of World War III is real within five years, says a British general.

Russia, China and Iran pose a more deadly threat than Nazis in 1939, so NATO needs to recognize the real threat of World War III.

This alarming statement was made by the former Chief of the General Staff of Great Britain, General Patrick Sanders, writes The Times.

In his opinion, the defense Alliance has time to prepare only until the end of the decade. The British general believes that NATO member countries must significantly rearm their armies in order to “prevent a Russian attack on their own territory.”

“Most assessments suggest that we have somewhere between five and ten years before Russia recovers its strength and is capable of posing the same threat as it did in the war in Ukraine,” the general noted.

Amid the likely war with Russia and its allies, the general urged Britain to take the right steps now, “while there is still time.” In particular, he proposes to modernize the armed forces.

In his assessment, the British armed forces are no longer strong enough to “repeat the invasion of southern Iraq that they carried out in 2003, or even to recapture the Falkland Islands, as they did in 1982.”

Recall that three African states formed an alliance and turned to Russia for help.
