Russia is probably preparing a new wave of missile attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure in the winter, as was the case in the last heating season.

This was reported by the British Ministry of Defense, citing British intelligence data.

The department recalled that in the period from October 2022 to March 2023, Russian troops regularly attacked the Ukrainian energy infrastructure.

Now they are watching

The occupiers mainly used air-launched cruise missiles, in in particular, the X-101 (AS-23a KODIAK), which was launched by strategic aviation from Russian territory.

Intelligence, citing information from open sources, noted that since April 2023, the aggressor has reduced the rate of consumption of airborne cruise missiles basing. At the same time, the Russian Federation announced its intentions to increase their production.

– Thus, Russia will probably be able to create significant reserves of air-launched cruise missiles. There is a real possibility that the Russian Federation will again use these weapons against Ukrainian infrastructure facilities in the winter, — emphasized in intelligence.

According to the forecast of Ukrainian military intelligence, Russian troops may launch combined strikes on Ukraine this fall in order to bypass the air defense system. But these attacks will not be more massive than last winter.

Official Kyiv proposed convening the Ukraine-NATO Council to discuss energy security due to the threat of new attacks by the Russian Federation.
