Russia is sorely lacking in ammunition: can it increase their production

< p _ngcontent-sc100="" class="news-annotation">Occupiers are short of ammunition to fire. This is also evidenced by the video with the Wagnerites, in which they accused Valery Gerasimov of being unable to organize logistics and that they had nothing to fight with.

Subsequently, Yevgeny Prigozhin, the owner of the Wagner PMC, also supported his subordinates, who also came to the conclusion that the invaders did not have enough ammunition. Military observer Denis Popovich told Channel 24 about this.

Why the Russians are systematically short of ammunition

British intelligence explains slowing down the offensive of the Russian invaders near Bakhmut precisely by the fact that the enemy is experiencing a shortage of shells. According to Popovich, this information is completely true.

There were even calculations that if the Russian army plans to fight over the next year, then the industry should produce 8 million ammunition for this, primarily for guns. The real capacity of the Russian industry is 1.5 million ammunition for the next year, Popovich said.

According to him, the problem of lack of ammunition is systemic for the occupiers. And it follows primarily fromthe decline of industry in Russia, which was not felt there before the start of the war. As a result, this led to the general unpreparedness of the aggressor country for a long war.

“They expected to end the war in a few weeks, but entered the stage of a protracted war, where they systematically lack ammunition, given their fire tactics shaft,” the military observer emphasized.

Can the Russians increase production

Theoretically, the Russians could increase their ammunition production capacity from 1.5 million to 8 million. Indeed, in Russia there is a full cycle of their production.

Technically, they can do it, but the question is primarily in the organization, – said the military observer.

According to him, in order to organize such an industrial cycle and increase the production of ammunition by several times, Russia needs to reorient the economy – in fact, mobilize it. At the same time, the mobilization of the economy is not only ammunition, but also tanks, other equipment and weapons.

So nowRussia has no desire to mobilize the economydue to a number of significant reasons. These include, first of all, the sanctions imposed against the aggressor country.
