The Russian Permanent Mission was outraged by the reaction of the OSCE representative on the media about Moscow’s decision to close Deutsche Welle (DW). This is reported by TASS.
The ministry said that the Russian Federation will draw serious conclusions from the comment of the OSCE representative, and called the actions of the representative of the organization “unprofessionalism” and “outright political bias in the assessment.”
Earlier it became known that the Moscow bureau of Deutsche Welle was closed after the decision of the Russian Foreign Ministry to ban the broadcasting of the TV channel on the territory of the Russian Federation. Irina Filatova, an employee of the TV channel, admitted that none of the employees expected such harsh measures from the Russian authorities.
On February 3, the Russian Foreign Ministry announced sanctions against Deutsche Welle in response to the actions of Germany to ban the broadcasting of the German-language TV channel RT DE. The agency reported on the termination of Deutsche Welle broadcasting in Russia, the closure of the organization’s office in Moscow, and the cancellation of accreditation of employees of the company’s Moscow bureau.
