Political scientist Oleg Sahakyan told Channel 24 that the Kremlin has nothing to say about the meeting between Joseph Biden and Xi Jinping. At best, Russia will be the object of their conversations, and at worst, they will ignore it.

The United States and China will probably agree on new rules of the game, which will be imposed on Russia and it will have to adapt to them.

Russians can say that Vladimir Putin communicated with Xi Jinping, and he will convey something from the head of the Kremlin to Biden, and his opinion will supposedly be “taken into account.” This will confirm the thesis about Putin’s almost vassal dependence on the head of China.

Indeed, the Russian idea of multipolarity is somewhat different from the generally accepted one in the world.

“There can be a lot of options in Russia – starting from a total war of everyone against all different poles and ending with broad cooperation with recognition of collective responsibility among key states. These are two opposing ideas of multipolarity,” explained Oleg Sahakyan.
