Ukraine within the framework of "Ramstein" supported by more than 50 countries, and Russia receives assistance with weapons only from rogue countries – Belarus, North Korea and Iran.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmitry Kuleba argues that the assistance of Western allies to Ukraine to defeat the Russian Federation may be less than the West's expenses in confronting the USSR during the Cold War.
He wrote about this on the social platform X (formerly known as Twitter).
“At the height of the Cold War, the so-called “West” consisted of only 19-20 countries. However, they eventually got ahead of the Soviet Union and its Socialist Bloc, which consisted of 20 now sovereign states,” the Ukrainian minister recalled.
Kuleba emphasized that today Ukraine is supported by more than 50 countries within the framework of Ramstein, and Russia is much weaker than the USSR and receives assistance with weapons only from rogue countries – Belarus, North Korea and Iran.
“The total GDP of the current Western coalition providing military assistance to Ukraine is 21 times greater than the total GDP of Russia and its allies. West: $57 trillion. Russia and allies: $2.7 trillion. According to the Estonian Ministry of Defense, if NATO countries invested just 0.25% of their GDP in military aid to Ukraine, this would generate €120 billion in defense support every year. The amount is large enough to ensure Ukraine’s victory and a just peace,” the head of Ukrainian diplomacy cited the figures.
The Minister emphasized that it would be naive to hope that Russia would not dare to attack a NATO country, therefore the victory of Ukraine and the restoration of a just world are existential strategic goals for the Euro-Atlantic community.
“We are not asking anyone to fight for us. All we need is timely and appropriate assistance to meet the challenge we face. The numbers show that it is not a matter of resources, but of The West believes in itself and sets a clear goal of victory over the enemy that threatens us all,” Kuleba added.
Recall that at a briefing on Wednesday, January 3, White House National Security Council Coordinator John Kirby said that the United States can no longer provide military assistance to Ukraine until Congress decides on additional funding.
