Russia is concentrating its military forces because it wants to besiege Kyiv and Kharkov. However, the situation is under control.

This was stated today at a briefing by Advisor to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Oleksiy Arestovich.

– The enemy is concentrating his forces for the siege of Kyiv, trying to besiege Kharkov. But in general, the situation is under control, and our military leadership knows well what they are doing,” he stressed.

Arestovich specified that air and missile strikes were carried out on Kiev and Kharkov at night. Kyiv air defense shot down five enemy planes: two Ukrainian planes were shot down, and three – air defense systems.

According to Arestovich, the intensity of strikes is gradually decreasing as the aggressor's missile potential is exhausted.

“The intensity of missile strikes is decreasing, since the enemy has used at least two-thirds of his missile potential,” Arestovich said.

Among other hot spots in Ukraine, he named the cities of Kherson and Mariupol. So, in Kherson, separate groups of enemy infantry made an attempt to penetrate the city. Now the Armed Forces of Ukraine, other military formations, the city's territorial defense forces are destroying the enemy.

And around Mariupol there are separate shooting and artillery clashes.

“As you can see, even the weather is on our side. For the third day, a storm on the Black Sea did not allow Russian amphibious assault to land in the area of Odessa or Nikolaev. And in the morning, the outskirts of Kyiv, which yesterday was a hot spot, are covered with fog and snow, which also prevents the Russian invaders from starting a daily stubborn assault on Kyiv,” Arestovich said.

He assured that the military-political situation in our country remains controlled by the leadership of Ukraine and the Armed Forces.
