Russian opposition politician Valery Otstavnykh said that in the Russian Federation the revolutionary events that took place in Ukraine in 2014 cannot be repeated.
The reason for this is the current internal situation of the aggressor country.
Otstavnykh expressed this opinion in an interview with Obozrevatel.
“I came to Kyiv many times from 2014 to 2017, gave interviews to the Ukrainian media, and I was often asked: when will the Maidan be in Russia? And I tried to explain why this is impossible. Now you do not ask such a question. The reason is the internal situation in Russia. This is Berlin in 1944. By the way, in 1950, when Germany was divided into zones of influence, was under external control, when real denazification took place, a sociological study was conducted in the country. People were asked who they would vote for if the elections were today. And the majority elected the late Hitler,” he noted.
He added that “for something to change in the minds of the Russians,” a lot of time must pass after the end of this war.

Retired also once again addressed the citizens of his country.
“If citizens of the Russian Federation read this interview, I would like to turn to them. They are often offended that the Russian language is also being rejected in Ukraine , and Russian culture, but to offend it's not worth it. The Germans experienced the same. Remember how they said? They didn't say “Nazis”, “Nazis”. They said: “War with the Germans,” and all the Germans long after the war were presented as fascists. They still bear this cross of Hitlerism,” he says.
Let us recall that political scientist and publicist Andriy Piontkovsky is convinced that Ukrainian diplomacy should pursue two lines in negotiations with partners.
