In Russia, tests of the “Agriculture” system, which received the name “rocket minefield” in the army, have been completed, Izvestia reports, citing sources in the Ministry of Defense.

According to the newspaper, from 2021, weapons will begin to enter service with brigades and regiments of engineering troops. “The novelty is capable of creating minefields of the desired configuration at a distance of up to 15 kilometers in minutes – it fires rockets that scatter mines in a given place,” the newspaper writes.

Experts interviewed by the newspaper said that “such vehicles are especially effective in mobile combat operations in the absence of a clear front line.” “Unlike traditional systems, the new system allows minefields to be laid at a higher speed and configuration according to the chosen program,” says military expert Viktor Murakhovsky

The publication reminds that, structurally, “Agriculture” is based on the eight-wheeled armored chassis of “KamAZ”, on which are mounted two packages of 25 missiles equipped with mines. “In addition to the combat vehicle, the system also includes a transport loader and containers with missiles,” the newspaper notes.

In September, Zvezda published a video in which, at the Ashuluk training ground, as part of the Caucasus-2020 exercise, the servicemen of the Southern Military District stopped the breakthrough of the tanks of the imaginary enemy with a “fiery shaft”.
