According to a US intelligence community report, Russia has secretly transferred $300 million to foreign political parties, officials and politicians in more than two dozen countries on four continents.CNN reports with a link on a White House official.
The purpose of this funding, the CNN source believes, was “to get the support of specific political parties to undermine the democracies in all these countries.”
“Russia has likely secretly transferred additional funds in some cases that could not be traced,” — said the source.
According to the official, the report was received this summer at the request of Joe Biden administration officials. Its level of secrecy has been deliberately reduced so that the information can be shared with allies around the world and made public.
