“Russia has shown NATO that it is ready to escalate”: expert on the brutal attack on Ukraine

The Russians fired 38 missiles. Air defense forces destroyed 30 air targets.

Massive Russian attack on Ukraine , today, July 8, demonstrated to the West that the Kremlin is ready to escalate.

A military expert spoke about this Alexander Musienko on the telethon.

He said that today’s attack began at night – the Zhytomyr region was under attack. The enemy probably wanted to get to one of the airfields.

“Later we see Kyiv, Krivoy Rog, Dnieper, eastern Ukraine. The attack is combined and quite massive,” the expert emphasized.< /p>

He noted that the Russian Federation pays a lot of attention to psychological warfare in order to put pressure on people’s emotions, so such attacks often occur at night or in the morning.

“The attacks begin at night, as a rule, sleep is interrupted. The second wave occurs in the morning, when people need to go to work, but it is impossible to get there, because there are problems with transport and danger is everywhere . Accordingly, this breaks people’s plans,” he noted.

Strike at Okhmatdyt

Musienko is convinced that today's enemy attack on the children's hospital “Okhmatdyt” in Kyiv was planned by the enemy.

“It is obvious that this missile was aimed directly at a hospital, which is a clear war crime within the meaning of international humanitarian law, which should be assessed accordingly by the international community. This strike from Russia demonstrates, that Russians think that they are allowed to do absolutely everything, that their hands are free,” the expert emphasized.

This attack also shows how much Ukraine needs air defense.

“I hope that this and more will be decided at the NATO summit. But we need to speed up the delivery of F-16 aircraft and we need at least 500 JASSM missiles attached to these aircraft , or better yet, at 900 and 1000 kilometers. We need to hit Engels, where the planes attacking Ukraine fly for repairs in order to destroy the equipment. Then they will have very serious problems,” he said.

At the same time, the expert emphasized that the West must take very decisive steps.

“Today Russia is openly demonstrating to the West that it is ready to play escalation. And now they will watch what NATO will do. They understand that NATO may make statements, but there will be no transition to action”,” added Musienko.

Recall that today, July 8, the Russian army attacked Kyiv with missiles. The death toll continues to rise.

As a result of a repeated strike in the Dnieper district of the capital the administrative building of the medical center was damaged.
