Specialists of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) have created a device that can determine the presence of coronavirus in humans in 27 minutes, said the head of the Department of Translational Medicine and Innovative Technologies of the FMBA, Doctor of Medical Sciences Daria Kryuchko.
She noted that the apparatus is based on the isothermal amplification method.
“The diagnostic system determines the presence of antigen with a high degree of reliability within 27 minutes,” Kryuchko told RIA Novosti.
She emphasized that, if improved, the diagnostic system will be able to detect other antigens.
In February, it was reported that Austrian scientists have created a computer program that is capable of diagnosing coronavirus and other diseases by symptoms that the user himself describes. According to the creators of the program, telephone hotlines have become very congested amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Therefore, the voice assistant “Symptom” will help to cope with this problem.
