In Russia, the first prototype of a combat exoskeleton equipped with electric motors has been developed, which can be part of the equipment of the soldiers of the future. RIA Novosti was informed about it in the state corporation “Rostec” at the forum “Army-2021”.

Bekkhan Ozdoev, industrial director of the cluster of weapons, ammunition and special chemistry at Rostec, said that this exoskeleton, which was created together with specialists from the Research Institute of Mechanics of Moscow State University named after Lomonosov, can reduce the load on the musculoskeletal system by 50 percent, and the energy consumption for running or walking – 15 percent. In addition, when using it, a person can carry up to 60 kilograms of cargo and shoot from automatic weapons 20 percent more accurately.

It is noted that the servos of the exoskeleton are equipped with position sensors, and the feet – with pressure sensors, which allows it to adapt to the individual characteristics of the wearer and not hinder his movement. Vladimir Budanov, head of the laboratory of general mechanics at the Research Institute of Mechanics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, also said that thanks to the use of gearless motors, the exoskeleton can be used in both active and passive modes.

Previously reported. that during the Army-2021 forum, the Marine Underwater Weapons – Gidropribor Concern presented an underwater drone designed to explore the seabed. “The autonomous carrier of hydrophysical equipment of variable buoyancy (ANGAPP) is used in lighting, reconnaissance and electronic warfare systems in the underwater environment as a carrier of various equipment in accordance with the task being performed,” the product description says.
