The bills will be submitted for discussion by the State Duma during the plenary session on February 15.

The profile committee of the State Duma on CIS affairs, Eurasian integration and relations with compatriots immediately supported two versions of the resolution on the appeal of the chamber to the President of the Russian Federation to recognize the self-proclaimed territories of the Donetsk and Luhansk regions as people's republics. They were both sent to the Duma Council on Monday, February 14th.

This is reported by RosSMI.

According to journalists, 3 people voted for each project in the committee. The first draft resolution was issued by the Communist Party of the Russian Federation . The second was introduced by the first deputy chairman of the committee, Viktor Vodolatsky , and deputy chairman of the committee, Artem Turov.

According to the source of the report, the second version of the appeal also calls for the head of state to recognize the independence of the DPR and LPR, but after consultations with the Foreign Ministry on compliance with international agreements, including the Minsk agreements.

Meanwhile, according to Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov, Vladimir Putin will hold separate meetings on February 14 with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu . These will be non-public measures. What the President of the Russian Federation will talk about with officials is unknown.

Recall that deputies from the Communist Party of the Russian Federation submitted a draft resolution to the State Duma with a request to Russian President Vladimir Putin to recognize the independence of the self-proclaimed “Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics.” They will ask to consider the issue of holding talks with the leadership of both self-proclaimed republics as soon as possible “on the creation of a legal basis for interstate relations that would ensure the regulation of all aspects of cooperation and mutual assistance.”
