Ships of the Russian Pacific Fleet (PF) have completed deployment for the exercise. They will be used to practice the control of a heterogeneous grouping of forces at a considerable distance from the basing sites. This was announced by Rear Admiral Konstantin Kabantsov, commander of the Primorsk Flotilla of the Pacific Fleet's diverse forces, TASS quoted him as saying.
The basis of the grouping consists of ships of the Primorskaya flotilla of diverse forces and ships of the Pacific Fleet's auxiliary fleet. From their bases, they covered four thousand kilometers. The Marshall Krylov ship became the flagship.
“Up to 20 surface combat ships, submarines and support ships have been involved in the exercise in the far sea zone,” the Defense Ministry said. Also, about 20 aircraft are involved in the exercises. The exercises are being held under the guidance of the commander of the Pacific Fleet, Admiral Sergei Avakyants.
On June 10, Russia began large-scale military exercises in the central Pacific Ocean. Up to twenty surface warships, submarines and support vessels are involved in the exercises. Among them are the flagship of the fleet the missile cruiser Varyag, the large anti-submarine ship Admiral Panteleev, the frigate Marshal Shaposhnikov, the corvettes Loud, Perfect and Aldar Tsydenzhapov, as well as the ship of the measuring complex Marshal Krylov.
