The Russian authorities have decided to close the country's airspace for planes from Poland, Bulgaria and the Czech Republic. On Saturday, February 26, TASS reports with reference to the Federal Air Transport Agency.
“This decision was made in accordance with the norms of international law as a response to the ban on all civil flights of aircraft operated by Russian air carriers and / or registered in Russia on / from the territory of these states,” the agency noted.
They clarified that now flights from these countries to the territory of Russia can only be carried out with special permits issued by the Federal Air Transport Agency or the country's Foreign Ministry.
Earlier, on February 26, Bulgaria, together with Poland and the Czech Republic, officially notified Russia of the closure of airspace for Russian airlines due to the situation in Ukraine. Later, Estonia and Latvia also announced the decision to ban Russian airlines from flying over their territory. In addition to them, the United Kingdom also closed air communication with Russia.
