In turn, the governor of the Saratov region, Roman Busargin, stated that the wreckage of the downed drones allegedly damaged a manufacturing plant. A fire broke out at the site.

Local residents also report a fire at the Engels oil depot. Not far from the city is a Russian air base where long-range bombers Tu-160 and Tu-95MS, which the Russian army uses to attack Ukraine, are based.
