For the first time in two years, Russia organized naval exercises in September. But Moscow was afraid to conduct exercises in the Black Sea.

It is noted that the Russian fleet conducted large-scale exercises from September 10 to 16 after a two-year pause.
According to British intelligence analysts, the “Ocean-24” exercises were an attempt by the Russian Federation to demonstrate its potential and viability, despite the war.
The Russian Federation claims that more than 400 ships, 120 aircraft, 7,000 vehicles and 90 thousand soldiers took part in the exercises. The exercises were conducted in the Barents, Baltic, Mediterranean and Caspian Seas, as well as in the Pacific and Arctic Oceans.
While British intelligence writes that Russia has greatly exaggerated these figures, since there are currently only about 300 ships ready to take part in the training.
“There was no Okean-2024 activity in the Black Sea, most likely due to attacks from Ukraine in the first months of 2024,” — the summary says.
