Dmitry Polyansky, the first deputy permanent Representative of Russia to the UN, called the West’s arguments about the possible fall of Kiev and the calculations of possible victims as a result of the conflict alarmist. He wrote about this on his Twitter.
“The madness and alarmism continues…What if we say that the United States can capture London in a week, and this will lead to the death of 300 thousand civilians?” the diplomat suggested, adding that this information would be based on “intelligence data that we would not disclose.” “Will it be right for Americans and Brits? It is also wrong for Russians and Ukrainians,” the Deputy Permanent Representative concluded.
Earlier, Reuters reported that, according to estimates by unnamed officials in the United States, in the event of a “full-scale invasion” of Russia into Ukraine, the number of possible victims of a potential conflict could reach 85 thousand people. In addition, they said that if Russia invades Kiev, the Ukrainian capital may fall “within a few days.”
