On December 23, the maneuvers will start in the occupied Crimea at the Opuk training ground, and on December 24 – at the training ground “ Raevsky '' near Novorossiysk.
Russia will conduct live-fire exercises in the occupied Crimea and Krasnodar Territory. It is planned to involve over 1200 Russian paratroopers and over 250 units of military equipment.
Interfax-Russia reports this with reference to the RF Ministry of Defense.
“The exercises will be held as part of an operational gathering of the commanding personnel of the troops under the leadership of the Commander of the Airborne Forces, Colonel-General Andrei Serdyukov. In total, more than 1,200 servicemen and over 250 units of military and special equipment will be involved in them,” the message says.
< p> It is noted that the exercises are taking place against the backdrop of statements by the United States, other NATO countries and Ukraine about the concentration of Russian troops near the Ukrainian border, which, as the newspaper writes, was denied by the Russian General Staff on December 9.
“The combat firing of airborne assault, artillery units and units of radiation, chemical and biological protection troops will be practiced, as well as demining of a section of the terrain and covering troops from air attack weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles. Servicemen will perform fire missions and hit targets at various ranges.” quotes “Interfax” by the RF Ministry of Defense.
Let us remind you that earlier the Russian Foreign Ministry published , as they call it, a draft agreement between Moscow and Washington on “security guarantees”, where there are several points, directly related to Ukraine and its integration into European and Euro-Atlantic structures. Moscow demands from the US legal guarantees that NATO will give up its intention to admit Ukraine . Thus, paragraph 4 states that the United States will be obliged “to exclude further expansion of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization in an eastern direction, to refuse to admit the states that were previously part of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics into the Alliance.”
