The European Language Union (EBU) has announced that no Russian artist will participate in the song contest this year due to the invasion and introduction of hostilities in Ukraine.
This is stated in the official statement published on the Eurovision website.
“The EBU Executive Board made this decision on the recommendation of the governing body of the Eurovision Song Contest, the Reference Group, based on the rules of the event and the values of the EBU. The recommendation of the Reference Group was also supported by the EBU Television Committee,” the statement says.
