Russia announced readiness to help Europe with coronavirus vaccine

by alex

Russia is ready to share with other countries the technology for the production of its vaccines against coronavirus. This was stated by the Permanent Representative of the Russian Federation to the European Union (EU) Vladimir Chizhov, RIA Novosti reports.

He recalled that Moscow does not impose Russian developments on other countries, and the country is not faced with the task of dynamically promoting drugs to foreign markets. “First of all, we need to vaccinate our population. However, we are ready to share, and not only the finished vaccine, but also, which is very important, the technology for its production, ”Chizhov said.

According to him, pharmaceutical plants in Russia, as in other countries, are “not rubber”, and no country can produce a vaccine for the whole world. “Therefore, we offer the interested states a trial batch. They can test it, as they say, far and wide, and if they like it, we can agree on the organization of vaccine production on their territory, ”concluded Russia's Permanent Representative to the EU. In particular, many partners of Moscow have chosen this path.

There are several COVID-19 vaccines in the world. Thus, two vaccines are registered in Russia: Sputnik V and EpiVacCorona. 12 countries have approved the use of the Sputnik V vaccine in their territories. Among them are Belarus, Argentina, Bolivia, Serbia, Algeria, Palestine, Venezuela, Paraguay, Turkmenistan, UAE, Hungary and Pakistan. The US also began inoculating the population with drugs from Pfizer / BioNTech and Moderna. Pfizer and AstraZeneca vaccines have been approved in the UK.
