Following the talks between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Chinese President Xi Jinping, the parties opposed color revolutions in neighboring regions. This is reported on the Kremlin’s website.

“Russia and China oppose the actions of external forces to undermine security and stability in the common neighboring regions, intend to resist the interference of external forces (…) in the internal affairs of sovereign countries,” reads the joint statement, which was released after the meeting of the Russian and Chinese leaders.

The dialogue between Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping took place on the eve of the opening of the Olympic Games in Beijing. Earlier it was reported that Putin, during a meeting with Xi Jinping, announced the unprecedented nature of relations between Russia and China. The Russian president noted that China and Russia continue to support each other.

Putin is the first world leader to hold personal talks with the Chinese president after the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic. Xi Jinping told Vladimir Putin that the political and strategic mutual trust between Moscow and Beijing continues to strengthen, and the parties support efforts to protect their fundamental interests.
