Russia and Belarus will hold two joint tactical exercises in March. This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Defense. The airborne troops of Russia and the Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Belarus will take part in the maneuvers, RIA Novosti reports.
Peacekeeping exercises will be held at the Russian Polyvno training ground from March 9 to 20. They will be led by the commander of the Ulyanovsk Separate Guards Airborne Assault Formation of the Airborne Forces, Colonel Vladimir Seliverstov. In total, over 400 Russian and 80 Belarusian servicemen, about 100 pieces of equipment, as well as two Mi-24 attack helicopters and six Mi-8AMTSh transport and combat helicopters will be involved in the maneuvers.
In parallel with this, a joint Belarusian-Russian tactical exercise will be held at the Osipovichsky training ground in Belarus from March 15 to 27. There, the paratroopers will work out the joint actions of the reinforced parachute battalion in defense and offensive, day and night. About 90 Russian and 400 Belarusian military, as well as 100 pieces of equipment will take part in them.
