In 2022, Russia will introduce traffic rules (SDA) for electric scooters and segways, Vladimir Kuzin, the Deputy Head of the Main Directorate for Traffic Safety of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, has revealed plans, writes Ministry of Internal Affairs Media.
As the expert said, the changes in the traffic rules were prepared by the Ministry of Transport and approved by the Ministry of Internal Affairs. They propose to determine the status of personal mobility devices (SIM): electric scooters, gyro scooters, segways and others.
In addition, the document will regulate the standards according to which they will be able to travel on Russian roads. “The process of adopting a change to the resolution is still underway, but we hope that by the spring and early summer of 2022, everything will be brought to a final point,” he admitted the speedy approval of the rules.
Earlier, the departments indicated that in the Russian legislation the status of means of individual mobility is still not defined, which does not allow them to be included in the traffic rules.
