Russia again threatens Lithuania because of the restriction of transit to Kaliningrad

The Russian Federation plans to disconnect Lithuania from the common electricity grid. The corresponding draft will be considered in Parliament.

In response to the restriction of Kaliningrad transit, the aggressor country is considering withdrawing Lithuania from the common electricity supply system.

About This was stated by the head of the State Duma Committee on International Affairs Leonid Slutsky, writes the Russian “Interfax”.

“We will consider, in addition to the issues that I have already voiced, regarding the restriction of transit for Lithuanian truckers, a break in the energy ring is possible. The project, of course, is very sensitive for Lithuania, as well as for Latvia, for Estonia,” the deputy said.

Recall that since June 18, Lithuania has banned the transit of goods and technologies that are subject to sanctions between Russia and the Kaliningrad region, located between Lithuania and Poland. This caused a hysterical reaction in the Russian Federation, whose authorities threatened “retaliatory measures”.

The Kremlin launched military blackmail in the heart of NATO's eastern flank. On Monday, June 20, the Baltic Fleet of the Russian Federation began an unscheduled exercise of missile and artillery units in the Kaliningrad region.

For this, Lithuania banned Russia from transporting road cargo on its territory. Now Russia can deliver sanctioned cargo to Kaliningrad only by sea.

In addition, Vilnos said they are ready for Russia to disconnect it from the regional energy system.
