Russia's plans to weaken the West have failed. Its aggression against Ukraine has only deepened the unity and cooperation between Europe and America.
Canadian Defense Minister Bill Blair said at the International Security Forum in Halifax that Russia is actively financing terrorist organizations in order to spread its influence around the world.

“As we know, Russia is consolidating its international dominance in the world through cyber intrusions, global disinformation campaigns, and the financing of armed groups and terrorist organizations,” the Canadian minister noted.
He added that Russia's actions threaten not only North America, but also “challenge NATO, all of our allies, and our interests in world”.
“Russia's threats to collective security go far beyond its aggression against Ukraine. Russia remains able to direct its air, sea and missile forces against Europe and the Arctic, and threaten North America,” Blair noted.
However, there is one positive aspect to this situation. According to Blair, Russia's aggressive actions have significantly strengthened the unity of NATO allies.
“We are strongly united in our resolve. We are learning to cooperate and responding together to the need to do more and work together. I am convinced that Putin's intention in 2022 was to weaken us, and he failed to do that. He has only deepened our resolve to defend Ukraine and to work together,” the Canadian Defense Minister emphasized.
Recall that Bill Blair reported that Ukraine has already received the latest NASAMS air defense system from Canada, promised last year. He added that the new air defense system “will make a difference because it will allow Ukrainians to defend their communities.”
