The hysteria around the Russian invasion of Ukraine is an attempt to keep the topic on the international agenda and not let it subside. This was stated at a briefing by Russia's Permanent Representative to the OSCE Alexander Lukashevich, TASS reports.

The diplomat accused Western colleagues of speculation. “Forcing all this hysteria [around the allegedly impending Russian invasion of Ukraine] is an attempt to keep the Ukrainian topic on the international agenda and not let it, as they say, go rotten, lose its political and geopolitical sound,” the diplomat said.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov announced a “red line” in relations with NATO due to the alliance's gradual invasion of Ukraine. We are talking, in particular, about supplying Kiev with defensive and offensive weapons and training the Ukrainian military. According to Peskov, this state of affairs is a real threat to stability and security in Europe.
