Russia accused of being able to kill thousands of people with chemical weapons

Ben Wallace

British Defense Secretary Ben Wallace found the cause of the difficulties in relations between London and Moscow and reproached the latter for the use of chemical weapons. He told about this in an interview with The Daily Telegraph, quotes are published by The Daily Mail.

He blamed Russia for the incident with the poisoning of former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia in Salisbury. According to Wallace, it was after this incident that relations between the countries became complicated. The Minister stressed that the nerve agent Novichok is capable of killing thousands of people.

The politician believes that Britain wants and is trying to improve relations with Russia, but this is complicated by the consequences of the Salisbury incident. According to the head of the Ministry of Defense, Moscow “is showing alarming behavior”: he recalled incidents with Russian ships and aircraft approaching the British border. “We will always encourage them to improve relations and follow the principles of the rule of international law,” Wallace admitted.

In March 2018, a former GRU officer Sergei Skripal and his daughter Yulia were found unconscious on a street in the British city of Salisbury. In London, they said they were poisoned with the nerve agent Novichok. The British side considers the Russian leadership to be involved in the incident. Moscow denies the charges.
