The rover Yutu 2 of the Chinese mission Chang'e 4 spent more than 1000 days on the moon, writes Space.com.
The publication notes that the lander with the rover, which is still in operation, landed on January 3, 2019.
On September 29, 2021, exactly 1000 days have passed since the rover appeared on a natural satellite of the Earth, having passed more than 839 meters along the surface of the Moon.
The publication reminds that Yutu 2 broke the record of the Soviet rover “Lunokhod-1”, which worked on a natural satellite of the Earth for 321 days.
On January 3, 2019, the Chinese 140-kilogram lunar rover of the Chang'e 4 mission made the world's first soft landing on the far side of the moon (in the South Pole – Aitken basin).
