The head of the state corporation Rostec Sergei Chemezov told how artificial intelligence (AI) will work in a robotic tank “Armata”.
According to Chemezov, the unmanned version of the T-14 “Armata” will be able to find targets on its own. However, a person will still initiate the shooting.
Chemezov said that the “Armata”, in general, will be used both with and without a crew. The autopilot will be able to control the tank and select targets. The decision, however, will remain with the person.
The TASS agency recalled that the T-14 tank was first shown at the parade on May 9, 2015. In 2019, the car passed preliminary tests. The tank is distinguished from others by the presence of an uninhabited tower. The crew is housed in an isolated armored capsule in the vehicle body. There he remotely controls weapons. This approach reduces the likelihood of crew death. The unmanned version of “Armata” has not yet gone into production.
