MOSCOW, October 7. / TASS /. The first Russian company in the Russian Federation, the Rostec Center, received permission for serial 3D printing of aircraft components, Rostec said.

“The Center for Additive Technologies of Rostec State Corporation received a license from the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia for batch production of products by the additive method. This is the first Russian enterprise to confirm its competence in mass industrial 3D printing in the interests of the aviation industry,” the statement says.

The license allows serial production and testing of components for civil airliners, helicopters and engines.

Industrial 3D printing allows to reduce the production time of individual components from six months to three weeks, components manufactured by an additive method weigh less, which allows to increase the payload and improve other characteristics of aircraft, Rostec notes.

CAD, which produces more than 450 types of parts, has the largest fleet of 3D printing equipment in Russia – 41 units of additive and auxiliary equipment.
