Rospotrebnadzor: there are no strains of COVID-19 “lambda” and “mu” in Russia
In Russia, no strains of coronavirus “lambda” and “mu” have been identified, the country is dominated by “delta”. This was stated by the director of the Central Research Institute of Epidemiology of Rospotrebnadzor Vasily Akimkin, RIA Novosti reports.
The delta strain has been dominant for a long time. It is considered to be the most contagious.
The WHO representative in Russia Melita Vujnovich previously noted that it would be possible to protect the body from new strains only with the help of vaccination. Experts studied how “lambda” is stronger than other strains and whether it is able to displace “delta”.
Earlier it was reported that in Russia they created test systems capable of detecting strains “lambda” and “iota”.
